 H.R. 3400, the Empowering Patients First Act ( 08/12/09 06:54 AM PST )
The Republican Study Committee has introduced as an alternative H.R. 3400, the Empowering Patients First Act. The authors of this bill believe their approach will maintain access to affordable, quality health care for all Americans, while remaining centered around the patient. They believe that increasing patients' control over their health decisions will make coverage more affordable, accessible and responsive, while offering more choices and the highest-quality care. I'm carefully studying the provisions of this alternative and have posted it on my website. I welcome your thoughts and comments.
